GB1 Challengers Series Episode 4: Inside a Challenging First Preliminary Regatta in Cagliari
The latest episode of the GB1 Challengers Series takes viewers behind the scenes of the opening days of the Louis Vuitton 38th America's Cup Preliminary Regatta in Cagliari, Sardinia, where the team's resilience and determination were tested from the very first race.
Following months of preparation and two-boat testing alongside Athena Pathway, the British Challenger arrived ready to compete against the world's best in the first opportunity to race the AC40 fleet in a regatta environment.

Day one saw GB1 suffer an early setback when a one-design traveller component failure forced the team to retire from the opening races. Despite the disappointment, Dylan Fletcher and the crew fought their way back onto the racecourse to secure a second-place finish in the day's final race. Challengers provides exclusive behind-the-scenes access as the team races against the clock to get the boat fixed on the water.
At the same time, Athena Pathway recovered from a dramatic capsize to continue racing, showcasing the resilience and spirit that runs throughout the British sailing programme.
