GB1 Crew Ready to Race in Naples

GB1 is ready to return to America’s Cup racing as the British team prepares for the second Preliminary Regatta of the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup in Naples.

The event marks the next major opportunity for the Challenger of Record to test itself against the America’s Cup fleet, with racing taking place in one-design AC40s on the waters that will host the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup in 2027.

Olympic gold medallist and SailGP Champion Dylan Fletcher MBE will helm GB1 on starboard side, with Ben Cornish alongside him on the AC40 as port helm. They will be joined by Bleddyn Mon and Italian sailor Andrea Tesei in the trimmer roles as the British team looks to build on the lessons from the opening Preliminary Regatta in Cagliari.

Naples represents another important step in GB1’s preparations for 2027, providing valuable race experience against the other America’s Cup teams while continuing the development of the sailing squad and wider programme.

The Naples Preliminary Regatta will see the America’s Cup teams go head-to-head in fleet racing, with GB1 looking to continue building momentum on the road to the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup in 2027.
